I made the decision in April 2026

From April 2004 to April 2026, I litigated complex marital and family law cases in Florida — twenty-two years inside the courthouse system, watching how it works and what it does to the people who have to use it. In April 2026, I made a decision. I closed the litigation side of my practice. Not as a step down, and not as semi-retirement. As a deliberate choice to do this work in a way that I think actually helps people. I built a practice with the financial incentive every other family law attorney is structurally denied — the incentive to resolve your matter quickly, in writing, and walk away.

My practice now is advisory only. I take on three kinds of engagements: consultations, presuit resolution, and Second Opinions. I do not appear in court. I do not represent clients of record in contested proceedings. If your situation requires that, I’ll refer you to a Florida litigator who does that work well — there are several I trust.

Why I changed how I practice

After 22 years, I had seen the pattern enough times. The cases that resolved well were almost always the ones where someone got smart, expert advice early — before positions hardened, before a filing forced everyone into adversarial postures, before the billing clock turned every conversation into a strategic calculation. The cases that resolved badly were almost always the ones where the legal process itself became the problem.

Litigation is the right tool for some matters. It is the wrong tool for many of the matters that end up there.

I built this for the second category. People who want a senior attorney’s read — represented, self-represented, pre-filing, or mid-case — before things escalate. The fee model matches the posture: flat fees, scoped engagements, no hourly clock, no incentive to find problems I can solve by litigating for you.

How I work

Direct. You get me. Not an associate. Not a paralegal. Not a junior attorney pretending to be senior. Every consultation, draft, and strategic read is handled personally — because there is no one else here to delegate it to. That is the design, not a limitation.

Flat-fee. Every engagement is scoped and priced before you hire me. You know what it costs and what’s included.

Online. We meet by video. Documents move through secure electronic channels. There is no commute.

A note on the practice

I am one attorney, working independently and selectively. I tell prospective clients honestly when their situation isn’t a fit. That happens regularly. It is the conversation working as intended.

How the four bands work

Pricing reflects depth of review.

After the strategy audit, I assign your matter to one band based on case complexity and document volume.

Band A

Foundation

$3,500

Pre-filing or early-stage. Organized record. One core strategic question. The only Second Opinion that delivers a written, portable strategic asset for buyers who aren't yet in court — and aren't ready for a monthly counsel relationship.

Band B

Active Case

$7,500

Active mid-case. Moderate document volume. Some conflict. Strategic question is about mediation prep, settlement posture, or next-phase tactics. Most clients land here.

Band C

High-Conflict

$15,000

Complex or high-conflict. Higher-value disputes. Multiple moving pieces. A major decision point — or a clear sense the current strategy isn't working.

Band D

War Room

Custom · starting at $20,000

350+ docket entries. Multi-front motion practice. Complex assets. Messy or contested record. Full attorney's re-read, scoped and quoted after the $750 audit based on document volume and posture.

Most clients land in Band B ($7,500). Band assignment is made by the attorney, not the client — and the $750 intake credits toward whichever band you're assigned.
