What Private Counsel is

Behind-the-scenes strategic counsel for as long as you want it. We set your level of attention and your flat monthly fee at the consultation. Billed by automatic monthly payment; cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice.

I work behind the scenes. I never appear in your file. Your counsel of record stays your counsel of record. Your self-represented case stays yours. All public-facing decisions are made by you and your counsel of record, if any.

I pressure-test the advice you are being given or shadow your self-representation. My goal is to help you maximize your results while preserving your mental, financial, and psychological resources.

Every engagement begins with the consultation.

A 60-minute private video consultation, flat fee $695. We map your matter together; from that, I recommend the level of monthly attention that fits and quote the flat monthly fee in writing. The $695 is credited in full toward your first month if you begin within 48 hours.

Add-on fees

Document preparation, where pleadings are required, is a flat $1,500 in addition to the engagement fee. Court filing fees are set by and paid directly to the Clerk of Court; they are not collected by this firm.

The structural independence is the product.

Every other attorney who reviews your case has a financial incentive to find problems they can solve by representing you. I built this practice so that incentive doesn’t exist.
  • I evaluate and advise on your case.
  • I do not accept case transfers from matters I have retained or advised on.
  • I do not communicate with your counsel of record. Ever.
  • You can hire me as a behind-the-scenes consultant for as long as you need one.

Verify independently.
