Why online mediation
- Florida Licensed Family Law Attorney and Florida Certified Family Law Mediator. Aliette Hernandez Carolan, Esq. holds both credentials, a licensed Florida Bar attorney (Bar No. 714291, admitted 2004) and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator since 2009 (Florida Bar profile; Super Lawyers profile).
- An attorney-mediator, not just a mediator. Twenty-two years as a Florida family law attorney means the process accounts for how the agreement will actually hold up once it is filed with the court.
- No travel, no courtroom. Sessions happen over secure video conference, with private breakout rooms available if you and the other party prefer to negotiate separately rather than in a single joint call.
- Flexible scheduling. Sessions can typically be scheduled faster than a court hearing date, and can be arranged around work schedules, including evenings, subject to availability.
- Faster and less costly than litigation. Reaching agreement through mediation avoids the time and expense of a contested court process.
How it works
- Start with a free 15-minute call, or book a session directly. The free call is a good fit if you are not sure mediation is the right step yet, or you have questions about the process. If you already know you want to move forward, you can go straight to scheduling.
- Schedule your session. Sessions are billed at $450 per hour with a 2-hour minimum. Most straightforward cases resolve within one to two sessions.
- Meet by video. You and the other party join a secure video call. Sessions can run as a joint conversation or with private rooms, depending on what works best for your situation.
- Leave with a drafted agreement. Once you reach agreement, you will receive a written settlement agreement or parenting plan reflecting the terms, ready for the next step in your case.
Mediation rate
$450 per hour, 2-hour minimum ($900 minimum per session).
Most uncontested matters resolve in one to two sessions.
There is no separate consultation fee if you book your free 15-minute call first.
